The projects focal delivery was a two-day case-study specific workshop under the working theme of "Assessment of Women Achievers in Aquaculture". The workshop participants and speakers worked to make official responses to recent studies produced on women active in the sectors of aquaculture and fisheries, to discuss the needs and potential for networking at European level and to identify key ways, methods and tools to further enhance their participation and promotion in decision-making roles.

A key element of the workshop focused on presentations by role-model candidates in three aquaculture-related areas where women have demonstrated success: "Women in Tourism Initiatives", "Women in Education and Research", and "Women in Production". The field-trip, the culminating event of the workshop, was a case-study of the local "routes de moules et huitres" (oyster trails) in operation.

The workshop took place in La Rochefort (near La Rochelle) France between 7th and 8th of October 2004. Further information is available at the dedicated workshop link on the PISCES forum (www.piscestt.com).
