Proposal Writing

AquaTT has a wealth of experience in applying for funding. AquaTT does not receive any direct funding and is therefore dependent on its initiatives for income. Since its creation in 1992 AquaTT has sourced over 6 Million Euro in funding from the European Commission for the Aquaculture Industry. Only a small fraction of this sourced money is retained by AquaTT to cover the cost of the secretariat, the remainder is invested into the industry. AquaTT is a not-for-profit organisation.

AquaTT has participated in over 40 initiatives and has been the coordinator of >25 projects. The funding has come from a variety of programmes including; 4th, 5th and 6th Framework programmes, Socrates, Leonardo Da Vinci, COMETT, CRAFT, Structural funds and DG Fisheries.

Methodology

AquaTT Driven Proposals

Through the AquaTT network current education and training needs are identified. Anyone is welcome to suggest ideas for projects. Once identified and verified by the AquaTT board of directors, the secretariat sets about identifying potential sources of funding under a variety of calls within the EC programmes. If a suitable call can be identified and it matches the original industry need the secretariat can start to formulate a proposal. Transnational partners will be identified based on their expertise and they willl assist AquaTT in developing the proposal. If successful AquaTT may be either the coordinator or a partner in the initiative.

Partner Driven Proposals

AquaTT with its experience in delivering training and its broad European network which ensure efficient and effective dissemination is an ideal partner to ensure professional management of these added value elements. AquaTT would be happy to help formulate training and dissemination strategies for future projects and would be happy to talk to any potential promoters of FP7 projects.

If you have an idea for a project and need help finding appropriate calls, finding partners, writing the proposal etc. do not hesitate to contact AquaTT. All enquiries will be dealt with confidentially. Please contact David Murphy, the AquaTT Manager if you would like to collaborate.
