About AquaTT
Strategic Aim
AquaTT is an international foundation which provides project management and training services to support the sustainable development of Europe's aquatic resources.
AquaTT's mission is to bridge the knowledge gap between the dynamic R&D environments and the progressive commercial sector.
Introduction
AquaTT supports its target audiences through the provision of support services and through participation in, and coordination of EU projects and initiatives in the areas of education, training and technology transfer.
AquaTT is a non-profit making organisation and all money generated is used directly to support the industry.
Origins
AquaTT was founded in 1992 under the EU COMETT programme as the University Enterprise Training Partnership (UETP) for the European Aquaculture Industry. The initial proposal arose from the identification of a clear need to systematise, coordinate and develop the training requirements of the industry through a single body.
Structure
The day-to-day running of the company is controlled by a Management Team, who are supported in their actions by a Board of Directors and team of National Representatives.
The present Board of Directors incorporates four Irish Board Members and three European Directors. There are also two non-voting advisory positions on the board; Lindsay Laird Chair and the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers (FEAP) Nominee.
AquaTT has evolved to a stage where it is highly responsive to the needs of industry in Europe and provides a wide variety of services.
