Expected Outcomes:

Aqua-RET (Aquatic Renewable Energy Tecnologies) provides an e-learning tool available online and on CD-ROM, and is supported by an educational poster series. The objective of the e-learning tool is to show the user, in straightforward steps, how aquatic renewable energy technologies work, how they benefit the economy, where and how they fit into the landscape and the important environmental considerations to take into account when planning and selecting sites for generating power.

Planners and energy providers can use the modules to develop their own professional competencies whilst also using the resources to inform, educate and stimulate the discussion and decision-making process between the different involved stakeholders; government officials, regulators, conservation and heritage advisors, land and seabed owners and professionals providing advice and services.

The partnership includes 8 partners from 6 countries (IE, CY, EL, PT, RO, UK):
